BRYAN OAKES -
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR / HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

Bryan is married to Meredith Oakes, his wife of 25 years. Together they have three young men, Gavin 22, working as a Production Assistant in New York, Kadin 21, currently a Junior at Tarleton State University and Tylin 19, currently playing football as a Sophomore at Houston Christian University. He is a graduate of Lone Oak High School and alumnus of Kansas State University. Coach Oakes is entering his 20th year, fulfilling his passion of educating and coaching today’s youth, not only in class or athletics, but in life. He and Meredith together understand that this is their mission field and enjoy the time spent in the community and with the young people in the RISD athletic programs. His hobbies are spent with his family, Kansas State and Houston Christian University football, and any time he can find to get into the woods. Coach Oakes would like to say we all expect to win on the field, but the biggest win in life is accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Go Cats!
AARON COMBS -
OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS / HEAD BASEBALL

Coach Aaron Combs is entering his third year in education and coaching, proudly serving in the community where he was born and raised. A 2006 graduate of Rains High School, Coach Combs played football and baseball as a Wildcat and is honored to now coach the next generation of student-athletes on the same fields where he once competed.Coach Combs teaches World Geography at Rains High School and coaches outside linebackers for the Wildcat football program. He also serves as the Head Baseball Coach for the Rains Wildcats. Taking over the baseball program is especially meaningful to Coach Combs, as it allows him to lead a program he was once a part of as a student-athlete. He is passionate about developing young men both on and off the field while emphasizing hard work, accountability, discipline, and pride in representing Rains High School and the community.His transition into education and coaching was driven by a passion for mentoring young people and giving back to the Rains community that helped shape him. Coach Combs has been married to his wife, Nicole, for 12 years. Together, they have two sons, Cooper and Jaxon, who are active in sports and school life. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, supporting his boys in their athletic pursuits, and attending local sporting events.Coach Combs is proud to be a Rains Wildcat and looks forward to another great year representing Rains High School. He is excited for the 2026 football season and especially grateful for the opportunity to lead the Rains Wildcat baseball program.
TOM DRACOS -
ASSISTANT HEAD COACH/OFFENSIVE LINE COACH/ ASST. TRACK

Coach Tom Dracos enters his 26th year of coaching football, with experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He has 3 years of College experience at the University of Oklahoma and Texas Lutheran University, and 22 years coaching high school football.
Coach Dracos most recently served as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Cumby High School, where he became the winningest coach in school history and led the boys' team to its first-ever playoff victories.
Coach Dracos has been married for 21 years to Jennifer Dracos, principal at Rains Elementary. They have three children: Jackson (22), Jillian (19), and Tyler, who is entering 8th grade at Rains.
When he is not at School he is either at Church, Duck Hunting, fishing, and or traveling.
JERRAD CARSON - DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR / HEAD GIRLS POWERLIFTING / ASST. TRACK

This is my 12th year as a Teacher/Coach. I am currently the Defensive Coordinator/Recruiting coordinator, head powerlifting, and assistant track coach. Prior to Rains I spent 5 years at Bonham that included being the CO- DC and linebackers coach after spending the first two years as the Offensive Line coach. Before Bonham I also coached at Lone Oak. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors in Exercise and Sports Science. I have a beautiful wife named Arye and we have been blessed with a beautiful one year old daughter named Scottie! We also have a Mini Aussie named Millie. I enjoy playing golf, fishing, hunting, and beating cornhole.
PEYTON ROGERS - VARSITY OFFENSIVE LINE & TIGHT ENDS / VARSITY BASEBALL / ASST. JH BASKETBALL

Peyton Rogers Varsity OFFENSIVE LINE & TIGHT ENDS/ VARSITY BASEBALL
This is my 5th year coaching and my 2nd here at Rains where I will be coaching baseball and football. I spent my first three years at Farmersville ISD where I was the Assistant Baseball Coach and a Football Assistant. Prior to Farmersville I graduated from McPherson College in Kansas with a bachelors in Physical Education, I was also a member of the baseball team . I am currently working on masters in Sports Administration from the University of Louisville. I grew up in Celeste and in my free time I spend time on Lake Fork with my family and my 5 year old labrador Charley.
BRYAN KELLEY - HEAD VARSITY TRACK / JH COORDINATOR / JH BASKETBALL / FOOTBALL

This is Coach Kelley’s 5th year at Rains ISD. He is a graduate of Texas A&M - College Station where he ran college track. Coach Kelley coaches junior high boys Basketball and Football and is also the head varsity track and field Coach. Coach Kelley is a graduate of Rains High School and is glad to be home. He was in the U.S. Army for 11 years, before becoming a coach. Coach Kelley has two children Bryan and Zada. Coach Kelley enjoys working out and coaching and being a parent.
HOGAN HALL - ASST. FOOTBALL / ASST. VARSITY BASKETBALL / JH TRACK

This is my 4th year of teaching and coaching. I grew up in a small town called Crawford, Texas for most of my life. After graduating from Crawford ISD, I attended Texas A&M - Commerce for 5 years. Since being there I have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, and I am currently in the process of getting my master’s degree in Education. I’ve been married a little over a year to my beautiful wife that I met in Commerce. I am looking forward to the upcoming seasons and Go Wildcats!
SHAWN FORD - FOOTBALL / ASST. TRACK / VARSITY ASST. BASKETBALL

Originally from Garland, Texas, Coach Ford is a proud graduate of Garland High School. He began his collegiate journey on a music scholarship at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas. A historically black Christian College with a rich legacy founded in 1948 and deeply committed to holistic academic and spiritual development. He is also the Operations Director for his family Nonprofit Organization Marshall’s Dream which specializes in social and academic advancement for all children and families spreading from Dallas, Texas, Moreno Valley, California all the way to Columbus, Ohio.
Coach Ford continued his education at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology with an emphasis in Sports Management
He further advanced his academic credentials by earning a Master’s in Sociology with a focus in Education.
As the youngest of four boys and 1 sister and uncle to 13 nieces and nephews Coach Ford brings JUICE, Leadership and Compassion to his coaching. For nine seasons, he has dedicated himself to coaching football and basketball, playing a formative role in the mental, spiritual, and athletic growth of his players. He coached at Inspired Vision High School in Mesa, Arizona, Maxine O. Bush in Phoenix, Arizona, South Garland High School, and his last four years at Greenville High School. His excitement for coaching stems from the ability to foster character, mindset, and faith development both on and off the field.
Through this season and beyond, Coach FORD remains committed to guiding student-athletes toward personal excellence, academic success, and lifelong values rooted in faith, dedication, and teamwork.
CAMERON ADKINS - HEAD BOYS POWERLIFTING / ASST. FOOTBALL / ASST. TRACK

This will be my 7th year teaching/coaching, and my 1st here at Rains ISD. I am a 2014 graduate of Leonard High School, and a 2018 graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce. I have been married to my wife Lexi for 5 years, and together we have a 4 year old boy named Stetson.
Mentoring youth has been a lifelong dream of mine, as I hope to instill the same character that my coach instilled in me. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors camping, fishing, or anything out on the water.
DAMION ROGERS - ASST. FOOTBALL / ASST. TRACK

My name is Damion Rogers, this is my first year in coaching and teaching. I am married to my wife Julia and we have 2 daughters, Addison (8) and Lyla (2). Prior to teaching I served in the Army as a Military Police Officer, Respiratory Therapist and Protective Service Agent. I am a graduate of Lone Oak High School. I teach World History for 10th grade. I coach safeties in football and I’ll be an assistant for track, coaching hurdles. I am passionate about coaching and teaching both. I believe every kid has something they wish to excel in, and it is my job to help kids get there. I’m excited for this year and excited to join this program.
MICAH KILGORE - ASST. FOOTBALL / ASST. TRACK / ASST. JH BASKETBALL

Coach Kilgore is joining the Wildcats this year as a first-year educator and coach, ready to begin his career in coaching the next generation of student athletes. While not married, he does enjoy spending every chance possible with his loving and supportive girlfriend, Faith Ferguson, along with our dog, Grayson. Overall, Coach Kilgore is extremely proud and excited for what’s in store for the Rains Wildcats!!
ADAM CRAVEN - DEFENSIVE LINE / ASSISTANT BASEBALL

Coach Craven is excited to be a part of Rains athletic program and is passionate about helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field. With 7 years of coaching experience, Coach Craven is committed to building a culture of teamwork, discipline, accountability, and personal growth.
Coach Craven is a graduate of Tascosa High school in Amarillo, Texas. After graduating high school, Coach Craven joined the U. S. Army, and spent 14 years before getting a medical retirement. When his time in the Army was done, Coach Craven attended East Texas A&M University where he earned his bachelor's degree. Coach Craven has been married to his wife Kristin for 23 years. Together, they have 3 kids, Kade, Landon, and Macey.
Coach Craven is excited to be part of the Rains community and looks forward to helping student-athletes become not only successful competitors but also outstanding young men who will make a positive impact wherever they go.
JEFF SMITH - HEAD BOYS BASKETBALL / ASST. FOOTBALL / ASST. TRACK

Jeff Smith brings 36 years of coaching experience rooted in character, discipline, and teamwork. A graduate of Greenville High School, Jeff has dedicated his career to developing young athletes both on and off the court.Jeff and his wife, Shannon, have been married for 26 years and share a full, joyful life with their three children; Shawn, Jordan, and Brittany and six grandchildren; Karissa, Kinley, Kutler, Kaize, Paisley and Parker. When he’s not coaching, Jeff enjoys time with family, watching his grandkids compete in sports, fishing, and golfing.In his work teaching youth basketball, Jeff focuses on building strong fundamentals and game IQ. His coaching philosophy extends beyond basketball: players learn resilience, leadership, and accountability—skills that shape them long after their playing days.Jeff’s mission is simple and unwavering: to teach life skills through the game he loves, helping every athlete grow in confidence, character, and purpose.
